Knowledge base (grounding)
The documented facts an AI agent answers from, so its replies stay accurate instead of made up.
A knowledge base is the curated set of facts — hours, pricing, policies, product details, FAQs — that an AI agent uses to answer questions. Grounding the agent in this source means its replies come from what you have actually documented, which sharply reduces hallucination (confidently stated but false answers).
When a question falls outside the knowledge base, a well-designed agent says it doesn't know or hands off to a human, rather than guessing. Keeping the knowledge base current is the main lever for an agent's accuracy.
